House Martin Mouldings: Our skirting boards and architrave are manufactured using a hardened polyurethane process. The products are impervious to moisture, tough and hard. Different depths and profiles can be made using our panel mouldings and or by fitting LED lighting into the skirting boards for background lighting.
Installation: Using only DIY skills and basic tools to fit these products. With our skirting board and architrave, installation is quicker and easier than with wooden skirting boards and architrave. Wooden skirting boards and architrave involve considerably more preparation, needing sanding, knotting and painting with a primer and maybe two coats of undercoat. House Martin skirting board and architrave is supplied requiring only a top coat of paint to finish when fitted. Use our recommended formulated adhesives for a trouble free install. Detailed instructions are sent with each delivery.
Benefits of Polyurethane: Hardened polyurethane has the benefits of a plastic, without the disadvantages of wood. Smooth the joins with glass paper and fill any gaps with the adhesive or decorators caulking, and then paint. Repairs required by accidental damage can be made in the same way. Hardened polyurethane is harder than normal soft wood skirting board and architrave, so is more impact resistant and less easily dented. Hardened polyurethane is impervious to moisture and as such this is a major advantage over MDF and wooden alternatives. Rooms such as bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms, etc. will all significantly benefit from this material, as will hard floors. Do you have a curved wall or bay? Check out our flexible options. This is unique to our product range used in conjunction with the standard rigid material.
