House Martin Mouldings: Our skirting boards and architrave are produced using a hardened polyurethane process. These products are completely impervious to moisture, tough and hard. Additional designs and depths of profiles can be created using our panel mouldings or by fitting LED lighting into the skirting boards for lighting.
Installation: DIY skills and basic tools are all that is needed to install these products. With our skirting board and architrave, installation is quicker and easier than standard wooden skirting boards and architrave. Wooden skirting boards and architrave involve much more preparation, such as sanding, knotting and painting with primer and usually two coats of undercoat. House Martin skirting board and architrave needs only a top coat of paint to complete when installed. Use our recommended adhesives for a trouble free install. Detailed instructions are sent with each delivery.
Benefits of Polyurethane: Hardened polyurethane has all the advantages of a plastic, without the many disadvantages of wood. Fill any imperfections in joins with the adhesive or decorators caulking and smooth as necessary with glass paper, then paint. Repairs as a result of accidental damage can be made in exactly the same way. Our skirting and architrave is harder than normal standard soft wood skirting board and architrave, so is more impact resistant and therefore less easily dented. Hardened polyurethane is impervious to damp and moisture which is a big advantage compared to MDF and wood. Rooms with moisture such as bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms, etc. will all gain from using this material, as will all hard floors. Curved wall or bay? Our flexible mouldings are unique and can be used in conjunction with the standard rigid material.
